Meditation

Meditation allows us to gain insight into ourselves. A calm mind also allows the body to relax better and find its balance again. When the body is free of tension, it is better equipped to fight off infections and other illnesses. Meditation also supports healing processes and pain control, and is therefore a cheap treatment method without side effects.

Meditation - What is it?

Meditation in Latin means ‘to concentrate’ It’s a way of gaining new experiences through introspection. Meditation transcends everyday consciousness and opens us to a deeper level of consciousness. In a period marked by a number of stress factors, meditation offers a counterbalance by centering your attention inwards. Through meditation a contact with yourself provides a source of awareness, intuition and creativity.

Through meditation, a relaxed reaction and activation of consciousness occurs simultaneously. The positive effect of meditation results in a balancing of body, spirit and soul. Meditation eliminates the body's external stimuli creating an internal state of serenity, and your thoughts are ordered and clear.

The effects of meditation

Regular meditation has a calming effect and is recommended in western medicine as a relaxation technique. Research with meditators showed, among other things, lower oxygen consumption, slower breathing, and harmonious brain waves, fear and stress factors measured by skin resistance decreased rapidly.

Heart rates were steady and slowed. These factors combine for a faster and holistic regeneration, enabling more rapid calming and recovery after stress, greater and more sustained concentration and alertness, a harmonization of body feelings and thoughts, as well as a more balanced and conscious life.
